It's Been a Whirlwind Five Months
The Alaska caravan began in Montana on June 12 and ran until August 28 where we parted in Washington. Then we led a small group from Washington to Iowa for a rally of our national travel club, SMART (Special Military Active Recreation Travelers). I moved up from 2nd VP to 1st VP. After ten days celebrating the 40th anniversary of SMART, we led several RVers from Iowa to Georgia where we joined another caravan as participants. The Autumn in the Appalachians caravan was 31 days long. It began in Cleaveland, GA and moved north, ending in Luray, VA. As usual, we made new friends and enjoyed all the comradery and fellowship of fellow veterans. We are now heading south slowly. We plan to stop in SC to spend Thanksgiving with our son and his family. Their three boys are growing like weeds. We will spend three weeks visiting with them before heading further south.
